WHAT TO WEAR: Interview

What to Wear

When going to an interview you must dress to impress. So often we get caught up in the idea that business casual means a pencil skirt and a blazer, but it can be so much more than that.

When heading off to your interview, the first thing you need to remember about your ensemble is it needs to be polished. This means keep the holes, sparkles and the rhinestones at home. Make sure all of your pieces are pressed and spotless. You wouldn’t want your interviewer to think you just rolled out of bed.

Once that general rule of thumb is fulfilled, it’s time to have some fun. It’s best to have one statement item on. This Fashionista chose her pants to be the statement. The fun pattern on her tailored trousers is a lot more refreshing than a solid colored pant. Everything else is very simple and highlighted the trousers. She finished her look off with a beaded turquoise necklace for a pop of color.

This same concept can be flipped around by doing a solid pant with a bright or patterned blazer or sweater on top. Either way, adding a pattern or bright color to an interview outfit is a lot of fun. Adding a little extra pizzazz to an interview outfit will definitely make you more memorable!

One Simple Change: If after your interview you’re looking to celebrate with some friends, this outfit can easily transform into the perfect look for a girls’ night out. Swap your blazer and tank top out for an oversized top and throw on a pair of chunky earrings and you’re all set. This look has the same idea of focusing on one statement item but appears a little more formal and flirty!
