The word “boring” should never be used to describe the outfit you are going to wear to your internship. A college student, young and full of brilliant ideas, should present himself or herself in an appropriate and energetic way that shows your workplace you are ready to learn, as well as breath new life into the job you are going to fulfill.
I spotted this Fashionista en route to her internship looking very sharp in her vibrant Yoana Baraschi pencil skirt and cutout cropped Minkpink tank. The tank has cutouts along the neckline, adding a bit of pizzazz to her otherwise conservative ensemble. Not only did I fall in love with the skirt because of its beautiful print and colors, but also because it flattered this Fashionista’s petite body type. She completed her outfit with a pair of casual clear jellie sandals (which we all wore and loved when we were seven) that are coming back in style. Her light blue leather Dooney & Bourke messenger bag added the right amount of color, as well as functionality, to her well put-together outfit.
While growing up, we face many important obstacles that we must overcome. Internships are one of the first serious steps in a college student’s life that he or she must take. Always work hard, accept criticism and be open to change, but do not ever think that you cannot bring a little bit of yourself to your workplace. Dress in what inspires you and what shows the world who you really are. It is vital to stand out from the crowd.
One Simple Change: Throw on a pair of wedges, and this outfit is perfect for a girl’s night out!
