WHAT TO WEAR: Internship

It’s mid-July and the beginning of school is still a ways away, but for many students that does not mean their work has ceased for the summer. Internships and jobs are a great way for students to gain onsite experience during the college off-season, and for Fashionistas/os, it’s also a rare opportunity to mix personal expression with formal wear in a setting outside of typical college life.

This Fashionista is semi-formal in a blue lace dress, which is a perfect fit for working an office job this season. A cropped white denim jacket is layered on top to add a little personal style, as well as give another dimension to the ensemble. A pair of white jeweled sandals match well with the jacket, and can stand alone as a standout piece against the dress without the jacket just as well. It is clear to see that this Fashionista is ready to get down to business with this classy look.

Although some internships require interns to be contained to an office all day, there’s no need to go without accessories. This Fashionista chose to accessorize with a long single strand pearl necklace and white gem encrusted cat eye sunglasses. The necklace pops against the dress to give another element in the outfit, and the sunglasses are functional fashion that are a chic addition to match the shoes and jacket. Overall, this Fashionista is ready to work in style.

One Simple Change: Have big plans after a Friday on the job? You can be weekend ready instantly by ditching the flats for a pair of heels and trading in the white jacket for something a little darker. Now you are set to have a night out with friends!
