WHAT TO WEAR: Internship

The beginning of summer has finally arrived, which means most internships have either already begun or are ready to begin. Working in Manhattan can be intimidating and scary at first. People are constantly rushing and pushing up and down the crowded streets sweating from the summer heat, yet somehow they all manage to look fashionable and put together. As a summer intern, you are often at the bottom of the totem pole. Your main goal for your time with the company is to impress your boss, make your mark and hope for a call back the following summer. While being an intern is often exhausting and sometimes you feel as though you go unnoticed, this is definitely not a time to slack on your outfit game! Dressing up for work can be fun and looking good in your office will make you feel good.

This Fashionista opted for a loose Club Monaco dress due to the humid New York weather. The dress is the perfect length and completely appropriate for an office setting. Club Monaco is an amazing store for work appropriate clothes. Since she prefers walking to work in the mornings, she threw on a pair of comfortable Repetto flats, which are great for a busy day in the office. They come in a variety of colors and are trendy and easy to maneuver in. Finally, she completed her outfit with a Valentino tote, which is big enough to fit all her workday essentials.

One Simple Change: As offices tend to crank up the air conditioning in the summer, make sure to tie a thick scarf to your bag and drape a cardigan over the handles in order to avoid getting sick during everyone’s favorite season!
