WHAT TO WEAR: Internship

June 4th, 2015 at 2:00am

Congratulations on landing on that summer internship!

The real world is highly approaching and we all know that first impressions are crucial. Employers seek to find graduates who present themselves professionally through attire and character. This fashionista rocked her first day by working with the business operations department for Comcast in the heart of Philadelphia. Representing Bentley University, this fashionista strutted down the city’s streets with determination and confidence.

She started off the day by picking out a plain black blazer to match her black slacks. Black is the perfect color to wear to kick-off the first day because one usually meets everyone in the business and probably the CEO of the company. As an intern you want to look most appropriate throughout your time there. Blazers are top notch when it comes to professional attire, they cover the shoulders, back and anything else you wouldn’t want to a future employer to see. Other colors such as navy blue, gray and sometimes brown are accepted to wear in the professional world as well. Nevertheless, it’s safe to wear black on that first day.

To complement the black blazer and slacks, this fashionista added some flare with her rosy colored plain shirt. Notice how her shirt has no patterns or print, yet it stands out. Just because you’re in a professional environment doesn’t mean you can’t show off some fun summery colors through your attire. This is something you could when wearing an all-black outfit, whether it’s with a skirt or a pair of slacks.

In addition to her rosy colored top, this fashionista also paired her outfit with a pair of black flats. The gold buckle on the shoe embraces her confidence as she showed them as she entered the door of endless possibilities.

Remember to stay positive like this fashionista because we got you covered to impress your future boss.
