WHAT TO WEAR: Internship

As college students, I am sure you are currently seeking out the perfect internship or have already found it. Internships can be hard when you’re sitting at a desk for countless hours each day, but having a great outfit on can make you feel better about those countless hours. Employers look at how you are dressed, especially when you have to go into work at 6:00 a.m. Internships are hard to dress for, and most internships don’t come with a dress code.

For Fashionistos, bringing your own style to the workplace may seem difficult. Some Fashionistos are comfortable wearing the same black slacks with a plaid button-down daily, but if you’re not no need to fear! You have to take some extra time, but there is a way to bring your own Fashionisto vibes to the workplace.

This Fashionisto wears a clean, fresh look for his internship, looking ready to stare corporate America in the face. Wearing a white Izod polo helps this Fashionisto to stand out but not in an obnoxious way. The leather briefcase is perfect for bringing this Fashionisto’s own sense of style to the corporate world. You can never go wrong with a pair of gray pants, especially when paired with such a crisp shirt. This Fashionisto paid attention to details by adding a watch. Although it is a subtle detail, the watch paired with the briefcase help this Fashionisto bring his personal style to the workplace.

One Simple Change: Have a corporate meeting during the work week? Swap out the polo for a nice, fun-colored button-down and a blazer. Still want to add a pop of your own style? Try adding a nice tie or accessory that goes with the occasion. It is better to be slightly over-dressed than under-dressed for a meeting. This will help your colleagues to know you take your work seriously and are able to be professional.
