WHAT TO WEAR: Internship

Summer is a wonderful time to relax and decompress from the long year behind us. Many people go on vacation and do all of the things they never had time for during the school year. But, as we get older, it seems that there are fewer vacations and more internships which are an excellent way to build skill sets. Above all, internships prepare us for the real world, which I hear is just as intimidating as it seems.

This Fashionista is ready to impress at her internship in a printed dress, booties and a minimal jewelry. The print catches the eye, but is subtle enough for virtually any office environment. She added a watch which is one jewelry piece that everyone should invest in. A watch is practical for the office because it is not bulky like a cell phone and helps with meeting punctuality. They do not have to be expensive to work properly and many reflect the trends in jewelry. This Fashionista wears a rose gold colored watch with a large face which goes well with her silver jewelry.

Part of the job as an intern is learning the office environment, from who is the best person to answer questions to what type of attire is most appropriate. This outfit, although featuring a print, would be appropriate for most offices. The print comes in soft colors and the accessories add some sparkle, but are not too radical. Her heels match one of the colors in her dress and are very simple well being the appropriate height which is enough to give her some height and add sophistication, but short enough to run errands.

One Simple Change: This outfit needs just a few accessory changes to take this outfit from day to a girl’s night out. The shoes can be changed from a short pair of booties to a metallic high heel. The watch that was oh-so necessary for working can be swapped for a clutch. It should be small enough to fit your phone, credit card and lipstick. The result would be a great look for dinner with friends or attending the theater.
