WHAT TO WEAR: Internship

It’s that time of the year when employers are contacting students for callbacks and interview scheduling for their summer internships programs. It can be nerve-racking thinking and rehearsing for those interviews. It may be your dream internship calling and you don’t want to miss the opportunity or it may be a company you don’t know about too much, but are excited to be a part of it. Plus, the overall learning experience is incredible. So don’t let nerves get the best of you, but instead dress to impress.

I spotted this Fashionista on her way to class. However, this outfit is perfect for going to your internship afterward. It has the right amount of edge but is still conservative for the office. The Fashionista’s outfit consists of monochromatic tones with a splash of burgundy. She wears a gray blazer over a black crop top and black pants. As for accessories, she kept it simple by adding only a pair of burgundy ankle boots and gold jewelry—a watch and necklace—a true minimalist’s accessories.

I know deciding what to wear for these occasions can be overwhelming, but picking colors in darker tones while doing something a little risqué like this Fashionista is über chic. However, do be mindful of your internship’s environment because if it is at a very professional office space, then even showing a sliver of midriff skin can be a no-no.

One Simple Change: Switch out the blazer for a fringe moto jacket for a girl’s night out. You already got the heels and modern office attire, so a splash of fringe makes the outfit more fashionable and less conservative.
