WHAT TO WEAR: Holiday

What to Wear

The finals have been taken, term papers handed in and you have taken your last flip-flopped shower for a whole, blissful month. Winter break is finally here and I, for one, could not be more ready for it. What I’m not ready for, however, is the multitude of outfits I will need for the numerous holiday parties that have become a staple of the holiday season.

Someone who does not need to master the art of the holiday party attire is this Fashionisto. Donning some classic khakis and a red and green flannel, he is pretty much set for most parties he will hit this festive season.

We may always say that “guys have it so easy,” in terms of deciding on daily outfit choices, but this is definitely a double-edged sword. This also means that men are somewhat more limited in their choices than women, who may be able to get away with a much more festive or different outfit. If the Fashionistos out there are eager to spice up their winter party attire, never fear! You have options that will indefinitely put you on Santa’s (and your mom’s) good list.

For starters, although you may be regaled to the classic khaki and button-down silhouette that has become a staple of every man, everywhere, you can still experiment with your button-down of choice! Like this Fashionisto, try and find a button-down that showcases some festive spirit, while also maintaining an air of class. You always also have the option of a nice, cashmere sweater for a bit of luxe class while mingling at these varied events.

Also, there is always the option of the classic ugly sweater, which, if we’re all being honest, you can never really go wrong with choosing. Happy holidays!

One Simple Change: Instead of plain khakis, go for some corduroys in a color like green or red, and maybe be as daring enough as to get some with a print on them, like these from Vineyard Vines! It’s the holidays after all!
