In a season filled with ugly Christmas sweaters and elastic waist bands due to copious amounts of delicious food being consumed, sometimes fashion gets put on the back burner during the holidays. Combine that with the stress of having to run around like a maniac in order to cook, shop and entertain friends and family, and it makes sense that you never had the time to realize that you were running around in old sweatpants and an over-sized men’s shirt all day. With that being said, being well dressed is a beautiful form of politeness and is not one that you should overlook.
The holidays are the perfect time for you to experiment with new and exciting trends. It’s not every day that you can strut around your neighborhood in a sequined dress and bright red lips, so take advantage of this opportunity to be fabulous. Extra bonus: if you dress impeccably throughout the holiday season, you might be able to avoid some of those pesky “Why do you still not have a boyfriend to take home for the holiday?” questions. Friends and family will just assume that since you look so hello bombshell, the real problem is that you have too many dashing suitors to choose from!
I spotted this stunning Fashionista in what I would describe as the perfect Thanksgiving Day outfit. It’s adorable and fashion forward, while at the same time being relaxed and cozy. I am a huge fan of her army green jacket, and have noticed that they are super trendy on campus this season. You can pair this type of a jacket with nearly any outfit, and this Fashionista got hers for an amazing price at Forever 21. Talk about a fashion home-run!
Her black dress from Nordstrom fits her like a glove because it cinches at the waist, then flares out like a skater skirt. I love that she accessorized with a gold statement necklace from Topshop and black tights that can keep her warm while she watches her family turkey bowl game. After all, her outfit is too perfect to ruin in a football game.
This holiday Fashionista completed her outfit with her favorite pair of charcoal brown riding boots. I’m impressed that she picked a brown pair instead of black because they help to spice up her outfit and really complement the green and gold colors that she is working with. To pull all of the colors together, she choose her English Saddle colored, go-to tote from Madewell. I am having some extreme bag envy over here Fashionistas!
Kate Spade wisely stated that, “Dressing up begins at age five and never really ends.” This holiday season I challenge you to dress outside of the lines and really put some thought into your ensembles!
One Simple Change: If you swap the army green fall jacket for a warm winter parka, like this one from The North Face, you’ll be all set for the cold weather.
