Welcome to South Carolina, where you will experience all four seasons in one week. The weather down south has been rocky. One day I am wearing my infinity scarf and motorcycle jacket then the next day I am wearing a crop top with a printed maxi skirt. Sunshine and warm weather speaks to me saying, “do not fear for spring break is near.” Fashionistas and Fashionistos do not fret, just think in a few weeks it will be time to break out your favorite American Apparel printed swimsuit, round sunglasses and hit the beach.
Spring Break is a time to relax from school, have fun with friends and prepare a spring cleaning for your closet. The best part of going through your closet is finding old clothes and either giving them away to make room for new clothes or recycle them to create a new outfit. Floral prints are a sure sign of the spring/summer season and designers want to make that known. Burberry Prorsum, Dolce&Gabbana and Christian Dior have sent these girly prints down the runway.
This Fashionista caught my eye with her floral printed hat similar to this one from OBEY, which she paired with a simple yet statement making denim shirt. Her shirt showcases a printed pocket that matches with the color scheme of her hat. A denim shirt is a wardrobe staple item that everyone should own. It can be worn to dress up a pair of joggers for a casual day at school or worn for a fun night out with friends. This option from River Island found at ASOS, is embellished all over with pastel colored gems. Her jeans were kept casual to allow her hat, shirt and shoes to take center stage. These jeans from American Apparel are my favorite. I own the black and medium stone wash indigo and they go with everything in my closet. She finished off her look with a bright pair of kicks.
Looking at her outfit gives me that “I am ready for summer” vibe. I wish everyday could feel like summer.
One Simple Change: Swap out the kicks for a pair of D’Orsay flats. This way you can still wear your floral hat but make your outfit even girly with these pointed shoes.
