In honor of the recent scorching heat on the Florida State University campus, I bring to you inspiration in dressing for the sun and doing so in the most comfortable and stylish way. Until this heat wave passes, a day of classes for most of us will be multiple trips in and out of a sauna. So while we’re all probably feeling extremely inspired by the thought of some fruity drinks by the pool, swimsuits just aren’t appropriate for classes. Fear not, though, because this Fashionista shows us her take on surviving these brutally hot weeks.
She dawns a classic, playful white romper, which is too adorable for a sunny day and can work for a picnic, festival or even the beach. I’m in love with this romper because it’s just so feminine and can easily remain a stylish staple every summer with just a pair of sandals and a statement accessory. You can never go wrong if you take this Fashionista’s advice staying minimal and feminine, but throwing in a couple splashes of bold and bright accessories to liven it up. With this as the base, her light summery pieces just seem to fall right into place.
A lovely pair of strappy tan sandals is paired with her romper and, to complement this Fashionista’s neutral ensemble, she accessorizes with a slouchy tan bag and is absolutely rocking the straw fedora. The slouchy hobo bag very often becomes a girl’s staple, and I have to say I’m also loving my own tan bag as it goes with everything and the color is very clean and classic. Also nail polish is a seemingly small addition, but in my book it goes a long way. So you may have noticed her perfect bright blue nail polish which pops all around and her fedora, which is a quality touch as the colorful print spices up this minimal look in all the right ways.
One Simple Change: To take this look from day to nighttime without a hitch, try switching out the fedora for a leather jacket. For a movie, trade your sandals for a pair of brown oxfords and, if you’re going out with friends, try some bright chunky heels and you’re ready for a night out!
