Being that I’m from the Sunshine State, you’d think that I would be able to handle a New York summer without an issue—wrong. I honestly had no idea what I was in for this summer. The combination of concrete, metal, garbage and 90-degree weather is deadly. This Fashionista combated the heat in light blue and bright whites.
Being effortlessly cool, in both meanings of the word, is what it’s all about during summer. You basically want to look like you could show up to someone’s barbecue, school a group of strangers at a game of beach volleyball or get caught lounging in the park at any moment. I’m obsessed with this Fashionista’s light blue jumpsuit paired with a simple white cropped tank top, amazing white sandals and perfect white cross-body bag.
This look is so driven by the light color scheme. I mean, just looking at this outfit makes me feel comfortable and cool. She stays fairly low-key with her ‘90s-inspired white accessories, silver jewelry, circular sunnies and a book for downtime during long subway rides. I loved her oddly shaped necklace, bangles and hand full of rings, too. Summer simplicity at its very finest.
One Simple Change: When the stifling city heat becomes too unbearable, try swapping out the white crop top for a bright one-piece bathing suit for a day at the beach. When you get to the there, all you’ll have to do is slip out of your jumpsuit and hop into the ocean.
