Post-midterms/pre-finals is a bit of an awkward time. While it feels as though you have accomplished a lot, there are still a few weeks to go before summertime. For me, these days are tricky, and my daily outfits tend to get a little boring and predictable. While I tell myself that I’m going to wear all of the cute dresses I have (they are so easy, right?), it just seems like too much effort. Instead, I throw on a simple T-shirt and shorts. It’s been hot in Savannah these last few weeks, so that doesn’t help matters much either.
This Fashionista bridges the gap between being casual and easy with a few pieces from the closet that may get sidelined. A great alternative to boring old shorts is the jean skirt. Skater skirts have been super trendy for some time now and they are great pieces that look good on almost all body types. Keeping it pretty and laid-back, this Fashionista went with a neutral, floral tank top and TOMS shoes. This is a great outfit for going to class or Saturday errands. It’s got a ’90s/ My So-Called Life coolness while being really easy and comfortable.
One Simple Change: To take this look and dress it up a bit more for a casual night out, trade out TOMS shoes for some bright wedges like these from Topshop. Go for a bit of a dressier top like this peach colored blouse from ModCloth. Finish off the outfit with an arm full of bracelets and a cute clutch.
