WHAT TO WEAR: Greek Life

August 10th, 2015 at 2:00am

Entering college as a freshman can be an unnerving experience. You start living with a group of people who you don’t know or trust, have harder classes and you start living on your own without your parents guidance. It is exhilarating and everything is a first! One of the most influential choices I’ve made in my college experience is going through with recruitment and joining my sorority. My sisters have been with me through my best times in college and helped me out through the worst. Even if you don’t think Greek life is for you, I think everyone should try it because you may be surprised and find your home away from home. But after you go sign up for recruitment, what you wear is going to be important, because like any job interview, first impressions are everything!

So if you decide to go through with recruitment, I think it is important to always look clean and put together. There is ease in knowing that your outfit is cute, looks great on you and is appropriate. This Fashionista is ready for anything in her skirt, embroidered tank top and woven ballet flats. Her outfit is both classic and trendy. She chose pieces that are great as separates, but when you put them together, her outfit stands out and is different. Take a page out of this Fashionista’s book and choose a one-of-a-kind piece like her shoes that she said are from abroad. Not only are they adorable, but also it is something to chat about!

When you go through recruitment, it is a tiring experience for all parties involved, so don’t add stress to your day by wearing an outfit that you’ll have to constantly check if it looks right. Wear something that you are comfortable in, that is fashion-forward and makes you feel great

Going through recruitment can seem scary but don’t worry because everyone is nervous. Ease your mind by picking out an awesome outfit. There is so much to look forward to in the next four years of college, and by joining a sorority, you are getting sisters who want to share the experience with you!

One Simple Change: If you decide that Greek life isn’t for you, there are so many other occasions that an outfit like this is perfect for! Transition this look from day to night by pairing the skirt with some brown wedges, a nice blouse and some gold bangles! You’ll look great for whatever you are doing weather it is a concert, dinner or just hanging out with your friends.
