WHAT TO WEAR: Greek Life

June 12th, 2015 at 2:00am

Rush Week is rapidly approaching, and you know what that means: sundresses and wedges galore. During Rush Week, there are hundreds of girls that you will meet and that you will be introduced to, so it is important to make a strong and memorable first impression. So, when you are drowning in a sea of floral print sundresses and smiles, make sure that you stand out with your own style. This Fashionista has chosen the famously admired Lilly Pulitzer dress with a twist. It has a fun and interesting corset-esque, lace-up front and adorable (and functional) pockets, making the outfit stand out. Lilly dresses are very common, however this Fashionista has found one that is a little less typical with a pop of unique structuring and detailing.

It is key to stand out during Rush Week when you are being introduced to (possible) future sisters who have met about a hundred other girls that day. More importantly, you must look nice and look like yourself while you search for the sorority that best fits you. This typical sundress with a twist really brings out some personal style with the crossover lacing on the front. A laced, bodice front, ironically enough, loosens up a stiff floral print. Additionally, the dress has convenient pockets hidden in the side pleating which are perfect for your cell and whatever else you may need, so you don’t have to balance a clutch or bag in your hands on top of all of the information (and glasses of water) you’ll be handed!

This Fashionista has paired her playful, Philanthropy Day dress with white, strappy wedges—easy to walk in and totally adorable. This classic look is perfect for all of the walking around Greek Village that you’ll do because the wedges are easy on the toes, and you run no risk of falling out of them, thanks to the strappy support. What’s more, the shoes flawlessly match her dress. The crisscrossed sandal look mirrors all of the cross lacing on the upper part of her dress. This reflection of style down her body really pulls the look together, and this is something that will get you noticed in the best way possible during Rush Week.

This Fashionista tops off the classy look with a strand of small pearls—a traditional, feminine touch that never fails in sorority life. She has added some small pearl earrings to match to create a classic look that looks young and fresh when paired with such a bright and colorful dress.

One Simple Change: Next stop: graduation. You’ll be sitting in the bright, hot sun for several hours, and what better way to keep cool than with a fun, floppy sun hat? It will keep the unforgiving sun off your face while you watch the graduates cross the stage to the next chapter of their lives!
