WHAT TO WEAR: Graduation

What to Wear

With graduation on the way, most people will be watching the thousands caps and gowns walk across the stage, receiving their diploma for all of their hard work these past four years. Some may even see a decorated cap get tossed in the air when they announce the class of 2014 (if you haven’t seen these decorated caps, go check out some graduation Pinterest boards). All of these things symbolize what we have done in our past four years and to celebrate those accomplishments. The celebrations normally do not end after walking on stage though and receiving your diploma. Most of us will be heading out for a BBQ or downtown to celebrate, so what is under your cap and gown does in fact matter.

I ran into this Fashionista returning from the famous Horseshoe after taking her graduation pictures, and I had to stop and congratulate her. While congratulating her and talking about how fast the past four years has gone by, I started having this thought: wearing a cap and gown might be the only time where a Fashionista is perfectly okay being seen in the same outfit as thousands of others! With that being said, the shape and details to her dress underneath the cap and gown will be hard to duplicate.

What really stood out to me about this dress was the shape and structure. The waistline on the dress is beautiful and the high neckline is modest and completely elegant. Up close, the details in the dress are divine. I love the white color of the dress, and I am sure it will be a popular color this graduation season as well.

While her accessories stand out as simple and trendy, the accessories she will be wearing on her graduation day take on the spotlight. Congratulations to the class of 2014. Wear your class ring, your cords, your cap and your gown proudly, and good luck to the class of 2013!

One Simple Change: If you are heading out for a fancy night after graduation, switch out the pair of wedges for a nicer pair of heels.
