WHAT TO WEAR: Graduation

What to Wear

In high school, people always told me that these would be the best four years of my life. Boy, were they wrong. Even though we all had our fun times through high school, it’s actually college that have been the best years for me. And this isn’t because of the crazy parties and late nights with friends, but instead because of the things I have been able to experience during my time at college.

College is a place where you truly find yourself, and figure out who you want to be and where you want to go in life. For some, these four years fly by and they are devastated at the fact that they will have to leave their beloved college party house. For others, college drags on and they can’t wait to move on to bigger and better things in life. Whatever the case may be, it’s officially time to throw out your endless supply of five subject notebooks filled with notes and doodles. In exchange, it’s time to throw on a cap and gown and walk across that stage to begin a new chapter in your life. Although I’m not graduating at the end of this semester, I still think it’s fun to see all the fashion that hides underneath everyone’s gown until it’s their time to shine.

Just because your body will be covered by pretty much a potato sack throughout the ceremony, that doesn’t mean you can slack off on your fashion. Take a cue from this Fashionista and wear a look that’s classic but would still score highly on the Tyra Banks fierce-o-meter.

Many LBDs (I guess that’s what they call them these days) speak for themselves, and require minimal accessorizing to shine. This Fashionista chose to add a simple, gold statement necklace that provides the perfect pop against the black dress. This look is so effortless that after pairing the dress and simple accessories, all you need is a killer pair of shoes. She paired the look with a nude pump, which is always appropriate for any occasion. Together, each staple piece forms the perfect runway look that will knock everyone dead at graduation.

One Simple Change: To take this look from Day to Night, switch the nude pumps for a colorful statement shoe like these. Add a chunky watch and some arm candy, and you’ll be ready for your night out.
