“Cuz’ it’s a girls night, it’s alright without you.” Yes, I did just quote Miley Cyrus and despite her unique choice of lifestyle right now, her lyrics have always been on point. Girl’s night out is something all of us can relate too. Not only a chance to go out with your friends, let loose and forget about the boys but to experiment with that new fashion trend you’ve been dying to try! When us girls are surrounded by certain people (*cough-cough* boys) we tend to stick to the strict rules of fashion. It’s almost as if we are scared to try something new. But the second we’re around our girlfriends, anything and everything is fair game!
This Fashionista was extremely daring with her grunge-girlie mix, a perfect choice for a GNO. The first thing to catch my eye was her leather, high-waisted circle skirt. Dark red is an awesome color for fall, and since it’s the only bold color in her ensemble your eyes are instantly drawn to it. The skeleton accent, a new 2013 trend, on her tank top added to her grunge attire. Pairing it with the lace bandeau and a topknot kept the outfit from being too overwhelming by allowing it to have a girly touch.
Props to this Fashionista for rocking an amazing outfit with a cast on her foot. The scalloped tights were the perfect choice because they helped camouflage her cast. In fact, I didn’t even notice she was wearing it until I was talking to her. With the combat boot on her left foot the bottom half of her outfit was very simple and well balanced. To keep the grunge theme consistent, she added a dark green (another great color for fall) backpack to carry all of her things.
One Simple Change: Although I caught this Fashionista coming out of class, her outfit could double as a great girl’s night out ensemble. So, when going out, ditch the backpack and opt for a small black clutch instead of a satchel. Since a clutch doesn’t have a cross-body strap there won’t be any distraction from your outfit!
