WHAT TO WEAR: Girl’s Night Out

After a long week of classes, there’s nothing better than reuniting with your friends for a little fun and fashion! Whether I’m going out for a night on the town or going to a kickback, one of my favorite parts about getting together with the girls is standing in front of my closet to decide what to wear. Even though I might be there for a while and my room will more than likely look like a tornado went right through the middle of it, there’s nothing like finding that perfect look for the night’s excursions.

As I attended the opening of the VIVA MOSCHINO! exhibit at the Mint Museum in Uptown Charlotte, I spotted this Fashionista effortlessly demonstrating how to dress for a girl’s night out at the museum. Sporting all black with a pop of color, her outfit screamed chic! While some believe that all-black is a bore, she definitely showed them that it’s quite the opposite by mixing textures and structures. She wore a simple V-neck and easily tied it into a knot to transform this basic T-shirt into a crop top and paired it with a sleek, simple pencil skirt. She incorporated her pop of color with a multi-colored bomber jacket and topped it all off with to die for accessories such as her black fedora, minimalist velvet choker, round structured bag, and a pair of peep toe heels.

Our fellow Fashionista’s look was perfect for a girl’s night out at the museum. She kept it sleek, sexy and sophisticated and channeled her inner Franco Moschino. Formulated by affordable basics, the base of her look not only encompassed Moschino’s idea of cheap and chic, but she also beautifully demonstrated his concept of less is more.

One Simple Change: Heading to brunch? Swap the crop top out for a smart, white button-down and exchange the structured bag for a solid fold-over clutch. Now all you have to worry about is how you like your eggs.
