WHAT TO WEAR: Girl’s Night Out

For many of us, school is officially out and summer is upon us. This means we no longer have to choose between enjoying a night out with friends or finishing that 12-page paper that’s due on Monday. With all those late nights in during the school year, we often missed out on time we could have spent having fun with our best friends. What better way to catch up with your best gal pals than to have a girl’s night out! This summer, make it a priority to venture out on the town with your girls at least once a week—whether that entails seeing your favorite band perform, going to that snazzy restaurant you’ve all been dying to try, scoping out the male scene at a local bar (for those of us who’ve reached the legal drinking age) or all of the above!

Not only does girl’s night out allow you to let loose and have a blast while tending to those friendships that might have been slightly neglected during exam hibernation, but it also gives you an opportunity to dress to the nines! My idea of a perfect outfit for girl’s night in the summertime calls for nicely fitted skinny jeans, a cute embellished tank and some form of a chunky heel. I recommend keeping it relatively simple because you never know what sort of activities you could be doing as your night unfolds. Remember, simple doesn’t always equal boring and this Fashionista proves it!

This Fashionista is definitely ready for a fun night out with the gals. Her skinny jeans are perfectly fitted and a flattering length, hitting just above the ankles. Her flowing white tank top adds an element of romance with its stitched detail and dainty straps. Additionally, the top’s peplum-style cut is figure flattering while still being breathable for those warm summer nights. Her brown heeled booties give her a little added height, but aren’t going to wear her feet out if excessive walking, or even dancing, is on the agenda.

Along those same lines, her vintage Dooney & Bourke cross-body purse is not only ultra trendy, but is also the perfect size for carrying the essentials—the phone, the cards and, of course, the lipstick. Finally, my favorite part of this Fashionista’s ensemble—the hair—is on point! This braided up-do adds interest and appeal to her look with its loose, face-framing pieces. Altogether, this Fashionista is looking simply stunning.

One Simple Change: Throwing on a floral kimono will transform this outfit into a perfectly modest ensemble for “meeting the parents.”
