Spring quarter always seems to be the hardest quarter. But whether you are taking super difficult classes, or you have a relaxing quarter, spending the day at the park or the beach always sounds better than class or homework. Sadly, it’s not the most productive alternative. But considering it is spring and the weather is so nice, it’s almost a crime not to want to go out more. For these situations, I like to call emergency “girls’ nights.”
I can’t begin to describe how important a good denim jacket is for anyone’s wardrobe. They can be dressed down for class or walking the dog, or dressed up for a casual date. Also, now that colored denim is such a hot trend, you don’t have to stick with the traditional dark, light or medium washes for your jacket! This Fashionista’s light wash denim jacket is a great contrast to her black long sleeve shirt. If you thought the skirt/shorts combination known as a “skort” was only for little girls and tennis players, Zara set out to prove you wrong with this piece. This Fashionista’s white, wrap around mini skort and buckled sandals are edgy and oh so cool. The top of this outfit is simple and classic, allowing the bottom pieces to be the stand out, focal points.
One Simple Change: To take this outfit from stylish “girls’ night out” to a sweet “meeting the parents” look, keep the jacket and skort as your staple pieces and trade out the black shirt for a pretty patterned blouse. Instead of the sandals, go for a simple wedge like these from ALDO.
