What to Wear

I think it’s safe to say that we have all reached that point in the semester where we need a little extra ‘oomph’ when it comes to, well, everything. However, before we get to the lovely days ahead that are full of sunshine and relaxation, we all must first conquer the infamous and ever-so-dreaded, finals week. Studying for and taking finals unfortunately requires a lot more than the aforementioned little extra ‘oomph.’ In fact, it requires a whole lot of ‘oomph’ (along with focus, dedication and caffeine), so not having to worry about what to wear to your tests is a major bonus when all of your time is going toward studying. Luckily I stumbled upon a Fashionista whose look was worthy of an A+ and perfect for the many days of finals ahead.

The temperatures here in Ohio are still on the chilly side, so to walk outside without a jacket at this time of year usually causes some regret. To keep her warm when the cold winds of Kent State were sure to blow, this Fashionista wore a light fur jacket. For the base of her look, she matched an even lighter tweed jacket with a crisp white button-up shirt. She wore all of this with classic skinny jeans, a trusty pair of loafers and of course a wrist full of sparkling bracelets. Topping off the look was her bright red lipstick which added an extra touch of polish to her already adorable outfit.

The reason why this Fashionista’s look is ideal for finals is because she stuck to a classic base of a white button-up and skinny jeans. She used her jacket and accessories to amp up the outfit, but her core look was simple while still being incredibly chic. For a finals week time saver, follow in this Fashionista’s footsteps by keeping your look classic and using your favorite pieces to doll it up. She also kept in mind the oh-so-important factor of layering. It’s impossible to know whether the room you’ll be taking your test in will be hot or cold. Layering instantly prevents any discomfort that may be caused by the room temperature. And for all of you who are as superstitious as I am, you probably already know that the color red is said to symbolize good fortune. Her lipstick color was a natural choice for sending a bit of luck her way for her tests.

Finals may be the most difficult part of the semester, but even with all the studying and stress, it’s important to keep that ‘oomph’ that you started with and finish the semester strong. And if you plan ahead by taking a few notes from this stylish and studious Fashionista, you’ll be sure to ace your look for your finals. (And hopefully your actual finals as well!)
