And just like that, we’ve made it to the home stretch. You can practically see summer through the falling snow. (Yeah, remember how it snowed at the end of April? Sometimes Michigan sucks. There, I said it.) Maybe it was some kind of poetic metaphor from the universe about how students feel during this time of year… or it could just be spring in Ann Arbor.
Finals are arguably the most stressful time of the year, as everything we’ve done over these past four months boils down to this one week. We study, forget to sleep and occasionally forget how to dress. At this point, not even yoga pants look enticing, but rather, no pants and a nap are what call out for us.
Yet somehow, while I tend to look like a baffled undergrad who’s constantly on the verge of tears, some people, such as this Fashionista, manage to look effortlessly cool under the pressure of finals. With its pops of red and yellow, her aztec print jacket perfectly suits the popular spring trend as well as a long trek to the library. Instead of throwing on any old (and I mean literally aged) sweatshirt, she opts for an equally comfortable light pink drawstring hoodie, layered over a subtle, floral printed top. The bold, mixing of prints perfectly adds life to any dull library trip, yet is still easy enough to put on for that 8AM exam.
One Simple Change: She could swap the jacket with an over-sized, neutral colored coat for when there’s (much) colder weather.
