Summer has been on my mind more often than not lately. I’m not sure if it is a case of end of semester fever, but I just can’t stop myself from longing for the days of sunny car rides, worriless laughs and, of course, my summertime wardrobe. Like most college students, some working and studying is definitely in the books for my summer schedule. However, here at UMich, our motto of “work hard, play hard” does not end after winter term. It is almost a necessity to balance out your summertime studies with some fun outings. And there is no better way to take a break than with a music festival. This week’s Fashionista shows you how to style the perfect bohemian look for any upcoming summer performance.
She starts off with an adorable printed tank which she layers with a coral lace bandeau. For summertime festivals it is always helpful to maintain a no-sleeves policy, keeping your body cool and ready to have some fun within the large masses of people. But just because the amount of clothing may be minimal, it doesn’t mean the level of style has to downgrade as well. The bright print on her tank is an adorable and eye-catching addition to the simple and relaxed fit.
She then pairs her tank with a black cotton maxi skirt and a pair of gold sandals. The maxi skirt is a perfect piece for just the right amount of boho-chic style. Its comfortable fit will allow you to sway with the beats and rock out to your favorite jams with ease. And the light pink jewels on the sandals help make a fabulous footwear statement underneath the plain skirt. This Fashionista then accessorizes her bohemian festival look with a sturdy brown leather satchel. The color of the bag accents her look perfectly, and the cross-body fit allows her hands to be free while ensuring her belongings will stay safe and secure.
When it comes to dressing for festivals, it is important to create versatile looks that will keep you comfortable and cool within a big concert setting. Trying out pieces with a fun summer edge is a great way to create a perfect boho-chic look!
