Music festival season is just around the corner and with each passing year, it seems as though the importance in what you wear edges out the importance in who’s performing. Based on my own personal experiences, one thing can be guaranteed for almost any festival: excessive heat which will undoubtedly result in excessive sweat. I don’t care how hip leggings and skinny jeans are, they lose all of their hipness when they start to physically bind to your body over the course of the day.
This is why this Fashionista’s look comes as no surprise for the perfect festival going outfit. Her floral dress is light and summery, not only through its pattern, but also through its billowing skirt. And while the cardigan may not be useful during the hot afternoons, it becomes almost essential once the sun goes down. Her white cardigan perfectly brings out the touches of white scattered throughout her dress.
While heat can be guaranteed, so can the fact that you will be doing a lot of walking. My mom constantly suggests wearing tennis shoes if we go anywhere where we’ll be walking more then a block, and while I know in my heart that that is the smartest choice in shoe, I always opt for a flat. This Fashionista’s dark ballet flats with added bows could easily get her through days of walking from show to show, all while being more attractive than a bulky sneaker. And of course, the most necessary accessory (did that rhyme? I think that kind of rhymed…) is the bandana. One year at Lollapalooza, all of my friends managed to snag bandanas while I was left bandana-less. I resented them for the rest of the trip. So, don’t resent your friends and get a cool bandana to keep your hair away form your face while you rock out.
One Simple Change: For a causal date night, she could switch out the flats for a strappy wedge sandal.
