There’s just something so captivating about festival fashion. If you’re anything like me, you look forward to seeing the free-spirited, eccentric styles spotted at music festivals like Coachella. Maybe that’s because with festival fashion, there are no rules. Seriously, anything goes. We often see festival Fashionistas pay homage to the ‘60s and ‘70s with huge hippie-chic sunnies, bohemian patterns and flowing dresses. Others channel their inner ‘80s rocker chick with distressed jeans, leather jackets and motorcycle boots. Pick a decade and commit to it.
But you don’t have to be headed to Coachella to have fun with your own festival style. This Fashionista (and coincidentally, a former Style Guru!) was spotted wearing the most perfect festival outfit. It was impossible to miss this gal walking by with her eccentrically mixed-and-matched threads. First, she combats a humid day by tying her hair up in a psychedelically patterned turban, kept fresh with pops of neon green and cobalt blue. She has a little fun with mixed prints by adding a patterned scarf in neutral colors.
Denim is always in style, but this spring we’ve seen some of our favorites return to the spotlight — including overalls! The classic denim jacket gets a trendy update thanks to this Fashionista’s amazing style. Paired with a flirty black skater dress, sheer tights and a pair of Dr. Martens, the jacket takes on an effortlessly edgy vibe.
One Simple Change: Decide you’d like to have a girl’s night out instead? Make the turban and denim jacket work for night with a pair of sleek leather leggings and simple pumps.
