Warm weather and good music go together like apple pie and ice cream. As soon as the days get longer and warmer, outdoor concerts and festivals start popping up on the calendar. The musical season kicks off mid-March with SXSW in Austin, Texas and works its way around the country until late-August/ September. Whether or not you’re attending one of the many festivals or outdoor concerts this spring/summer, festival fashion is always in.
When I think of festival fashion, images of big floppy hats, bell-bottomed jeans and vibrant prints from Woodstock come to mind. Flowers, fringe, denim and suede are all still popular pieces at festivals today. What a celebrity wears to a festival such as Coachella is almost as important as what they wear to a red carpet premiere.
This Fashionista took a boho/rocker festival look to the streets of Savannah. Concert T-shirts and vintage shirts are a great way to show your love for a certain band or add a touch of coolness to your outfit. Taking the cool factor up another 10 degrees is the fact that the edges of this shirt are fringed. Her burgundy shorts add a pop of color and complement the darkness of the top of the outfit. Finishing off this outfit is a great embossed leather satchel and round hippie sunnies: two of the most important things, besides sunscreen, for any festival.
One Simple Change: To take this look from festival ready to a cute outfit for a day out shopping with the girls, trade out the vintage T-shirt for a vivacious retro print top like this one from ASOS. Also try some cute espadrilles instead of flip flops.
