WHAT TO WEAR: Festival

What to Wear

I’d say music festivals are a dime a dozen these days, but then I’d be lying. While there’s probably going to be a festival taking place somewhere around you this spring or summer, they’re not very practical for every student’s budget. That doesn’t mean that we won’t still drool over Kylie Jenner’s Coachella pictures on Instagram though. Today’s Fashionista drew her inspiration from the queen of “festival style” herself, Vanessa Hudgens.

Over here at St. John’s University, we’re lucky to have a spring carnival every year. This is about as close to a festival as we’re ever going to get, so our local Fashionistas make sure to dress to impress. Today’s Fashionista is no different. Her bohemian-casual look is equal parts adorable as it is fierce! What’s even better is that you don’t have to break the bank to replicate this look.

First you’ll want to start with a printed romper. Be careful because rompers can be tricky. You want to look bohemian-chic, not toddler-chic. Forever 21 always has a wide array of rompers during this season, and the best part is that they’re super cheap. The romper’s main selling point is that it’s a one-stop shop kind of outfit. Once you have it on, you don’t need to pick out a top or pants, because it’s both!

If you want to add even more drama to your romper, top it off with a comfy cardigan. Since it is still spring, the weather could get a little nippy. If you want something even more exciting than a cardigan, go for a kimono. They’re really on trend this season, and they add an extra touch of feminine flair to an outfit.

One Simple Change: In case you’re experiencing a rainy day on your festival/carnival, throw on some cute floral rain boots to keep your feet dry.
