WHAT TO WEAR: Falling into Autumn

Transitioning into autumn is always a little bit stressful. We have all of these fun summer dresses, sandals and sunglasses that we aren’t ready to entirely give up yet! But there’s still that excitement for pumpkin patches, haunted houses and hot chocolate. Finding ways to incorporate your summer attire with the autumn weather is an adventure, and who says you have to put away the summer clothes already?

I used my great friend Erin for this look. She’s easily one of the most fashionable people I know for all seasons, but especially for fall. For this look, she’s wearing a flowy Free People long sleeved dress. This time of year, the days start out warm and the nights end cool. The long sleeves help keep you warm during the evening, but the skirt that exposes the legs not only add some sass, but it’s also keeps you cooled off during the day! The colors in the dress make it so season versatile. It’s based with cool blues and creams but has hints of warm reds and maroons in the floral pattern.

A perfect way to add a touch of autumn to any outfit is with a pair of booties. Since her dress had a touch of those rich warm tones, she added a pair of almond colored booties and a matching bucket bag to tie it all together. Booties are a stable piece in my closet at all times and are basically the only thing I ever wear during the cooler seasons. It’s so good to see you again booties, we have missed you oh-so much!

Here’s to a autumn full of hay rides and caramel apples! Don’t kiss those summer dresses goodbye just yet, Fashionistas/os! Can’t wait to see your fall looks.
