WHAT TO WEAR: Fall Out the Dress Code

October 11th, 2016 at 2:00am

As the summer filled with smells of bonfires, barbecues and “s’moreful” moments come to an end, fall has arrived with cool winds, pumpkin spice and the moment we’ve all been waiting for…football season! But not only are we pumped for football season to be here, it’s also the season for layering; cardigans, parkas, bombes, hoodies, sweaters, oh my! Who isn’t excited for that? I know I’m absolutely excited to bring out my military green jackets and thick cardigans for this upcoming season, and I’m sure my fellow Fashionistas/os are as well.

Around this time of the year, we attend different types of events such as pumpkin patches, tailgates, concerts, haunted houses and sharing German beers at festivals like Oktoberfest. But a big thing that happens around this time of year for most of us is the beginning of fall quarter/semester. At all these events we want to stay warm since the temperature is a lot cooler throughout the day, and what a perfect outfit this Fashionista put together for back to school. I came across this fellow Fashionista stepping out with an oversized military green parka, a loose fitted V-neck shirt, leggings and some combat boots to keep warm and cozy. This Fashionista decided to pull out her parka from the closet because since it’s only the beginning of fall and the temperature hasn’t dropped too low just yet, the lightweight jacket was perfect for her to wear when she needs to run errands or just to throw on really quickly for the day. The jacket also has a beautiful embroidered lace skull which fits for the holidays that occur in this season.

This Fashionista also accessorized by keeping a scarf handy once it gets later in the evening—just in case she plans on going out with some friends to watch a game or grab a bite to eat after class. The scarf is also oversized so it can be used stylishly as a hood if necessary. She also threw on a mesh choker to give her look a little edge. Our Fashionista didn’t forget to give herself a nice natural makeup look by adding a beautiful nude lip color called Persistence by Mac and, of course, some fluttery lashes that add a bit of flirt behind her frames on or off. This look can be dressed up or down if you decide to throw your hair up in a ponytail or add loose curls to be prepared for any event you have planned for the day! I can’t wait to see what other Fashionistas/os have coming out of their closets for this season, and I hope that everyone dresses warm, cozy and fashionable!
