WHAT TO WEAR: Fall Fashion

As we jump into October (I know, I can’t believe it either), it’s easy to overestimate the early morning chilliness. You open your window, feel the crisp fall morning air and instantly throw on a heavy sweater and jeans and rush to your 9:00 a.m. class. But before you know it, it’s your last class of the day and the temperature has risen to almost 80 degrees. You’re wondering, “Why did I think it was a good idea to wear this outfit this morning?”

I don’t know about you, but I feel like I’m always asking myself that question during the early weeks of fall. The mornings are chilly, but the afternoons feel like a second coming of summer. Luckily for this Fashionista, she was prepared for both! She stepped out for a long day of classes, a study sesh with friends, and errands in the perfect outfit for a chilly morning and a warm afternoon.

Starting with footwear, instead of opting for heavy boots to shield her toes from the morning chill, this Fashionista went with leather slip-on sneakers. What’s great about these kicks is they keep your feet covered if it’s cold, but they’re not uncomfortably hot when it’s warm due to the breathable holes in the leather. Her linen pants cover her legs entirely, but are perfect in the warm weather as well since linen is a light and breathable fabric. This Fashionista rocked a high-necked tank top paired with a light cardigan so that she could be covered in the morning, but was also able to take it off if the weather permitted later in the day. To top it all off, she sported some awesome gold vintage jewelry. And can we talk about that bag?! You can never go wrong with a quilted leather cross-body, no matter the season.

One Simple Change: Going out with friends after your busy day? Throw on a pair of pointed-toe pumps and add a monochromatic jacket to successfully take this look from day to night.
