Is it too soon to be thinking about fall break? I say never (sorry, Bieber). The leaves have begun turning and I’ve already started binge-watching Catfish in lieu of doing my homework because I’m just so ”stressed.” I’ll admit that it may be a tad premature to neglect my homework, but our full two days off in mid-October, otherwise known as a break, will be here before you know it. While we could spend our mini vacations lounging in sweatpants (or no pants), we should all keep in mind that this is fall in Michigan, which roughly translates to the only tolerable time to be in this state.
Oversized sweaters are synonymous with the autumn season. If you don’t believe me, go on Pinterest, type in “fall sweaters” and watch your computer implode. As you may have gleaned, it can be easy to get swept away amongst the mobs of cable knits, but this Fashionista’s bright red sweater pops out in the crowd. She layers it over a collared button-up top adding extra bits of color. Her printed loafers, decorated with a blue strap, pull out the colors from her top even more while also adding an extra pattern to the look.
She also wears skinny khakis, a small yet important detail since the sweater itself could overwhelm her. Sometimes wearing khakis can seem dated or remind you of heading to your middle school band concert. However, this Fashionista shows that when paired with the right sartorial choices, they instantly transform into a fall staple.
One Simple Change: For winter break (you can never plan too far in advance), she could add a fur-trimmed coat to her look and be ready to chicly take on the harsh winter months.
