WHAT TO WEAR: Fall

While the weather is only dipping down into the 70’s, my friends and I have already begun burning candles and buying candy corn. Autumn is almost here, and I think everyone gets so excited for it because it’s a time of reinvention. While in school, fall is an opportunity to start over; whether that be your living situation, who you hang out with, what clubs you join or even with how you dress. Going back to school with a new haircut, a fun makeup look or something as simple as a new top can feel fresh and inspiring for the upcoming school year.

This Fashionista tells me she isn’t traditionally a “hat person,” but she wanted to try this black one for a change. I think she made the right call because the hat adds some unexpected spunk to her outfit. Thick, wide-brimmed hats scream fall, making this the perfect accessory for this upcoming season. Her flowy Anthropologie top is beautifully detailed with simple cut outs which accentuate her shape and give the shirt a bit of a personalized look. The burgundy color is also perfect for fall. This Fashionista adds a vintage-inspired bicycle necklace, keeping the whole look a bit rustic. She keeps things casual with a pair of dark wash jeans, but cuffs the bottoms to hit before her ankle. She wears beaded sandals, as it is still relatively warm out. The black sandals carry out the black motif in her outfit, effortlessly bringing the attention from her head to her toes (literally). This outfit would be perfect for back-to-school, or even just running errands this season. If you’re in a more rural area, I suggest wearing something like this to go apple picking (sans sandals), or getting your full-fall on and carving some pumpkins. Just think about how cute those Instagram pictures would turn out.

One simple change: If you’re wearing this outfit this fall from day to night and plan on staying out, bring along a cardigan to keep warm! My current favorite is a beautiful mustard-colored one from Urban Outfitters.
