WHAT TO WEAR: Fall

“I don’t dress up for boys, I dress up to stare at my reflection as I walk by store windows.”

From that quote, I’ve learned that every day is a chance to pick an outfit that shows the uniqueness of your personality. You have 365 days a year to play dress up and wear the clothes that make you feel like you. That said, I take advantage of the fact that I’m able to pick an outfit that I feel confident in each morning.

Fall is in full swing. Time to treat yourself to a delicious toasted pumpkin latte and admire the changing tones of the leaves. It’s the season to switch up your wardrobe with warm layers and nature’s colors, like red, gold and plum. From fuzzy scarves to the statement jacket that completes your whole look, fall is the best season for fashion. I’m always looking for trends to step into the new season. This week, I got inspiration from this Fashionista for a cool outfit to wear in the fall.

This Fashionista is a style innovator, who wears clothes that become popular on campus shortly after wearing them. Her outfit this week was the best mix of the cutest styles on Instagram with her own personal twist. She always dresses boldly and incorporates the best variety of warm hues to create a timeless autumn aesthetic. This look features Chelsea boots, distressed jeans and an ultra-soft wine-colored turtleneck sweater. The cozy sand-colored coat finishes off the look for the days when it’s just a bit too chilly on campus. Any York College student knows that a pleasant sunny day can turn into the most frigid day ever when the wind kicks in.

One Simple Change: Done with classes on a Friday afternoon and want to go downtown with friends? Whether you’re strolling through town to enjoy the views or you’re going out for the night, swap the denim with a bodycon skirt and a pair of sheer leggings for a more sophisticated look.
