WHAT TO WEAR: Fall

Fall weather can be extremely unpredictable. One day it is pouring rain and 50 degrees, and the next it’s 70 degrees and sunny blue skies. Some days, Netflix and a hot mug of tea is the answer, and on others it is fun to traipse around outside in the fall foliage. The time has come to bake apple pies, toast pumpkin seeds, roast marshmallows, picnic in the park, stroll through the aromas of autumn, play or watch football and flounce around in flannels. At times, it is difficult to find an outfit that will suffice for the ever-changing outdoors and the array of excitement that is going on. From the dorm to the classroom, this Fashionista is prepared to face any kind of weather that comes her way, and any fun fall activity.

With a breezy ivory Free People trapeze dress, white knee-highs, a hunter green cargo jacket and a white sweater, this Fashionista is prepared for the varying, transitional temperatures of autumn. Toting a toffee-colored campus carryall, she is clearly ready for class, extra curricular activities or even a fun day of shopping. The varying textures of the airy dress and fluffy sweater allow for maximum comfort, but are also ideal for the New York climate. Subtle, nude combat boots coordinate with the purse, yet do not outshine the cargo jacket. The berry-lip beauty look provides this earth-toned outfit with a more modern, urban vibe.

One Simple Change: To go from day to night, ditch the white knee-highs and sweater, and exchange the ivory dress for a black dress. Depending on the weather, add black tights. In addition to being a sophisticated color, black is a New York staple.
