WHAT TO WEAR: Fall

Cold mornings transition into hot mid-days then hot mid-days abruptly turn into cold nights. Dressing for the weather becomes a hassle as mid-terms roll around and 8:00 a.m. classes make it easy to grab the closest leggings, sweatshirt and solid hat.  So what are Fashionistas/os to do when the weather is against them? I was walking around the infamous University of Missouri-Columbia columns looking for an outfit to answer my question when I stumbled across this Fashionista. I fell in love with the simplicity of her outfit and the ability that it has to adjust to the changing temperatures outside and still remain warm enough to survive the icebox we call classrooms.

Warm colors are a must for the fall and the olive pants that she bought from Banana Republic are definitely on-trend. I highly recommend the olive pants this Fashionista is wearing for all of my fellow Fashionistas/os as an item to invest in for this upcoming fall season, as they match well with any skin tone and are extremely versatile. She paired the olive pants with a black sweater and nude sandals. What had initially drawn me to her outfit was her use of the tote bag. I’m in love the increasing number of girls who carry around the tote bag instead of common backpack. Backpacks tend to hinder an outfit, so opting for a large tote creates an even more put together ensemble.

The simple outfit makes it a lot easier to accessorize. She accessorizes with a set of rings, a decorated cuff bracelet, bow shaped earrings and animal print sunglasses. She polishes her simple outfit off with the popular fall color burgundy on her toes.

One Simple Change: Made plans later in day? Pair this outfit with red lipstick and a bold necklace. Then switch the sandals for black booties for an outfit that’s sure to transition from day to night.
