WHAT TO WEAR: Errands After Brunch

Since it’s February , the temperatures are getting lower and lower as the days go by, here in New York. And although it may be cold outside, that’s no excuse to not look your best—especially when you are having a girls’ day out but have to be comfortable enough to run some errands afterward. It can be hard to dress warm enough to brave the cold weather and look your best, but in this season, there is one essential thing to do: layer.

On the streets of New York City, this Fashionista paired a big, baggy sweater with some sheer tights for an effortless but chic look. On top of her sweater dress, she wore a warm jacket along with a knit scarf. All of the clothes she wore had a blue tone to them (but they were not all the same color), making the outfit more cohesive and put together. With some comfortable booties on her feet, she can do almost anything.

This simple look is not something that is hard to achieve, meaning you can throw it on easily when you’re in a jiffy but still want to maintain the image that you have your life put together. In New York City, where the weather can go from 20 degrees to 50 degrees with no warning, it is always important to remember to layer. Under a sweater dress, or anything really, you can wear a cozy long sleeve and/or tank top to add some extra heat and believe me, it really makes a difference. Though I wouldn’t suggest this outfit if the temperature in your area is below 30 degrees (unless you are brave enough and kudos to you), instead of wearing sheer tights, you can wear a pair of your most comfortable leggings, and you will achieve the same look. As a New Yorker who gets cold easily, I think it is of utmost importance to stay warm in the winter and layering will always be the key to success.
