WHAT TO WEAR: Errands

We all lead busy lives at times, making dressing stylish difficult. When you’re running all over town buying more milk, taking your dog to the vet and cleaning the house, style is probably the last thing on your mind. But that doesn’t mean you can’t be fabulously dressed! Comfortable clothes can be just as stylish.

When I was doing some shopping downtown, I spotted a Fashionista who knows how to dress for a day full of errands and maintain her style. A simple pair of black leggings are a staple for busy days. You’ll be comfortable wearing them for whatever you might do and there are so many different ways to style them. On this particular day, the weather was not at all summer weather so she utilized layers. I liked the different color combinations because it kept the outfit vibrant. Layers work well for long days because it might be chillier in the morning, but by late afternoon the sun is shining.

A few practical accessories were added to keep this outfit unique but still simple. Her light colored Keds style tennis shoes were an awesome choice. These type of shoes are everywhere this season. They are lightweight and comfortable, which is perfect for errand running. A large tote is a necessity for days like this. You can throw everything you need in there. It’s more than just an accessory, it can also serve as an extra shopping bag! She also added a simple but beautiful ring and necklace. Sometimes your accessories do not have to be oversized and full of bling. Sometimes simple is better, and just as stylish.

As the great Alexander Wang once said, “anyone can get dressed up and glamorous, but it is how people dress in their days off that are the most intriguing.” I couldn’t agree with this statement more. I think how a person dresses for a day full or errands shows a lot about their style. This Fashionista was comfortable yet stylish, proving that you can show your personal style even on your busiest days.

One Simple Change: You can easily make this comfortable. chic look work for a girl’s night out with a few simple changes. Just swap the black leggings for a black skater skirt and the tennis shoes for wedges or heels. Add a bigger necklace and you’ll still be comfortable but with a bit more glam.
