With summer break upon us we finally have time to run those errands we put off during finals week. Whether it’s grocery shopping or shoe shopping; you always want to be comfortable. Being comfortable doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice your style. I once believed errands meant a lazy fashion day, but as Fashionistas/os we don’t let a few errands get in the way of looking fabulous. Sieze the moment, because you never know who you’ll run into when you’re running around town!
However, this doesn’t mean to throw on your five inch heels and a skin-tight dress to go take a package to the post office. It’s all about finding the perfect happy medium between style and comfort.
As I am residing in Portland, Oregon this summer I’ve witnessed a lot of fun trends. A common one I’ve seen is a neutral take on the ever so popular Bohemian style. Rather than seeing a ton of bright, bold colors I’ve noticed a lot of tans, whites and grays. It’s always fun when you can incorporate a current trend into your comfortable and relaxing outfit like this Fashionista.
I spotted this Fashionista in the midst of her errands. With driving all over town and spending lots of time on her feet, this she pulled off a great outfit that was still comfortable. Her maxi skirt provided easy mobility and dressed up her outfit while her chambray added a shabby chic element to the ensemble. She brought the whole look together with a neutral scarf and metallic sandals. Not only is this outfit cute and comfortable, it’s also easy.
Maxi skirts are a staple all girls should have. Once you throw one on you feel as if you just snuggled under a blanket. Button up your chambray and throw on your scarf and shoes, and you’re ready to run out the door and conquer anything life has in store for you.
One Simple Change: If suddenly you receive a text from friends asking to meet with you for lunch, don’t fear, this outfit can easily be transformed. Switch out the neutral scarf and put on a patterned or bright colored one. Take off your sandals and trade them for a pair of wedges. These quick fixes will brighten up your ensemble and make it a little less casual.
