WHAT TO WEAR: Errands

What to Wear

So much to do. So little time. In addition to classes and writing papers and studying for tests, busy college students today have internships and jobs, belong to intramural clubs, fraternities and sororities and are members of campus groups and civic organizations. They head-up committees and perform volunteer work while trying to maintain relationships and have a social life. Yet some, always on the go, working to achieve their goals, seem to always remain calm and collected. Somehow, they always look perfectly pulled together no matter how many things they’re trying to accomplish. How do they do it?

With formal coming up this weekend, a paper due tomorrow, no groceries in the fridge since spring break, and a meeting before her morning class and after her evening class, this lovely young Fashionista heads out for the start of a long and busy day, looking fabulous in a casual, boho-style ensemble, ready to conquer a long list of things to do.

She has a full day ahead of her, including running lots of errands, and what worked perfectly for her was to keep her look simple. A piece that can be dressed up or dressed down and typically very comfortable, an easy-to-wear piece, the maxi skirt has become something many ladies have in their closet as a “go-to” item. This young, well-dressed, high-achiever wears hers with a classic white tee. Accessorizing with a geometric pendant necklace and fringed purse gives a casual, boho vibe to her outfit and the knit cardigan is finished it off nicely. Her look is simple—simply perfect.

Pulling it back in a sleek pony tail is one way to wear your hair when you have lots to do and little time, but there other ways. Fishtail braids are so in now (if only I could learn how to do one properly). Here, our Fashionista pulls her hair back softly away from her face looks, which looks great and, keeping makeup minimal, shows off her natural beauty without a lot of fussing and fixing.

So, keep up the hard work! It will all pay off one day. And when you’re feeling frazzled as though there’s no time to worry about what to wear, keep it simple.  Stick to some casual classics for a great look on a busy day.

One Simple Change: Go ahead…add ‘hit the town’ to that to-do list and head out for some fun when you’re done with errands! And to change from casual-boho to street-chic, just switch out your cardigan for a metallic, leather moto jacket like this one by Free People.
