I don’t think I’ve actually ever heard anyone say they’re trying to look good to go to the grocery store. Okay, I think maybe Stacey on What Not To Wear said it once. But seriously, it’s not something people generally prioritize their best outfits for. I’m here to say it: I disagree. Why not look good to run errands? When I ran into this Fashionista grabbing a pre-errands coffee, I knew she was on the same page as me.
This style maven kept it simple, donning the ever-popular leggings and sweater combo. Her layers made it a comfortable look that was super chic. Big, thick sweaters like the one this Fashionista chose are a fantastic go-to for running from place to place. I always refer to mine as my “wearable blanket” (promise it’s cuter than a snuggie). Layered with a simple, loose T-shirt like the one this Spartan wore, it’s a simple but cute pair. I love the wintery boho vibe it gives off, and trust me, you’ll never want to take off your blanket sweater.
The thing that seriously drew me to this Fashionista was her accessories. First of all, her scarf. The chunky knit on her wool scarf adds some serious warmth, which is desperately needed during this harsh winter. It also adds a texture, breaking up the outfit and creating a lovely layered look. She finished off her errands outfit with simple black booties. Booties are all the rage right now, and I’m totally on that bandwagon. Her shoe choice reminds me of these Sam Edelman boots that I’ve been loving lately. They’re the perfect shoe for everything—work, class or checking off that to-do list.
This Fashionista totally showed off what I love; dressing casual doesn’t mean sacrificing dressing cute. Her layered look didn’t sacrifice that Sunday afternoon chill feeling, but totally kept it in style.
One Simple Change: Don’t be afraid to switch up this Fashionista’s monochromatic look for something with a little more color. Printed sweaters are always a great look, and create a more lively feel. Show people you’re excited to be productive!
