Getting out of the bed has always been a struggle for me. At times, I think it is one of the hardest things to do in college. It’s just something about your bed that feels oh-so-comfy right when your alarm rings. Well, this semester I decided that I was no longer going to let those early morning classes defeat me so I took the challenge. I now have a 9:00 a.m. class Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays and a 9:30 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursday. Let me tell you, this hasn’t been easy and the struggle is real when it comes to early classes and I. The only thing keeping me above water is the eagerness to get dressed in the mornings and to hopefully see some of my peers dressed as well. I always say it does not matter the condition or circumstance, there is no excuse to be fashion-less.
In my reporting and news writing class, I noticed one of my classmates that tackle the woes of the early morning class through dress every day. Say hello to this HU sophomore who decided she was not going to let the weather or time alter her appearance. On this day she is sporting what I like to call a “cutesycal” (cute casual) look. She wears leggings with a long oversized cardigan, knit infinity scarf, Kangol hat and a cool pair of shades to match. This avid blogger shows her personality through her clothes and overall appearance. It gives me such joy to see people who love fashion as much as I do. Honestly, at times that is one of my motivations to make it through. Yes, clothes are my motivation…so what?! Can you blame me? To me clothing is more than just what you wear. It expresses who you are and sometimes who you aspire to be. So kudos to this Fashionista; she is definitely an example of what to wear for those early morning classes.
One Simple Change: You can trade the leggings for a pair of ’70s-inspired bell bottom jeans with some chunky clogs and now you’re ready for class, dinner or just a day out with the crew! Switch it up, just remember to do you!
