WHAT TO WEAR: Early Class

What to Wear

Second semester is always a hectic time, whether you’re officially settled in and getting involved as a freshman or planning graduation as a senior. With a million things on your to-do list, it’s easy to revert back to hoodies and leggings. However, I’m here to tell you that you don’t have to sacrifice your style for comfort and ease. So how can you look amazing for those early classes? My solution: sweaters. Sweaters are definitely my favorite article of clothing, as they are completely versatile and come in all colors, patterns and styles.

This week’s Fashionista is wearing a gray sweater with a back keyhole tied with ribbon, dark washed denim and tan knee-high boots. It’s important for any Fashionista/o to invest in a pair of jeans that are comfortable and fit your body. If your jeans are comfortable, you can easily replace your go-to leggings or sweatpants. Try to get them in a color that matches most of your wardrobe (I tend to stick to darker colors). While hoodies can be cozy, they are just another sweater — so why not opt for a dressier one? Cropped sweaters, slightly see-through sweaters and sweaters with keyholes or open backs are in this season and so easy to wear. Throw on a scarf and jacket and you’ve got the perfect layers to face any weather in the city.

One Simple Change: For a slightly more formal look, layer a dress shirt under and reveal the collar for an early casual presentation. This way, you don’t overdress for the occasion, but you still give your outfit that extra kick. These are just two examples of how to sneak comfort back into your wardrobe while being fashionable!
