In college, perhaps one of the most dreaded things is the 8 a.m. class. After a late night of “studying” (or whatever you were doing when you were supposed to be studying), the last thing you want to think about is getting up and dragging yourself to that early morning lecture. However, if you just wear your pajamas to class, you will still be in sleep mode and are more likely to take a nap when you should be taking notes. So follow this week’s Fashionista, who looks relaxed yet put together for that early class.
The outfit revolves around a slouchy dark gray tank top. It has a loose fit and a V-neck, which is flattering on any body shape. The soft material will make you feel like you are still in your pajamas, but looks so much more fashionable. This Fashionista complements the dark tank top with a pair of skinny jeans in a darker wash. The combination of the two dark colors gives length to her body. She rolls up the jeans above a pair of black high-top Converse, which gives a sporty vibe to the outfit and will feel almost as comfortable as slippers. I love how she weaved her hair into a loose side braid, as it takes just a minute and minimum effort to create. Her stacked bracelets and gold watch add polish and mix feminine with masculine, which adds interest to her outfit.
Next time you know that you’re going to struggle to get up for a morning class, set aside a cute outfit the night before. You will save time and have something to look forward to wearing to pull you out of bed. Start off with a comfortable and soft top that will make changing out of pajamas a bit easier. Add some stretchy jeans or leggings in a darker color to make your legs look longer, and finish with some sneakers or flats to go with the chill mood of the outfit. Throw on a stack of your favorite bracelets and a watch so you are sure to be on time. Finally, pull your hair into a braid or bun to hide any bedhead and look classy for class.
One Simple Change: If you have an interview scheduled for an on-campus job right after your early class, pack a blazer in your bag to throw on over your top. Don’t forget a pair of heels to replace your sneakers and you’ll be ready for anything the interviewer might throw at you.
