Just because you feel like pulling your hair out doesn’t mean it’s socially acceptable to actually look like you are pulling your hair out. We all know it’s the end of the semester, aka crunch time, and we are under some serious stress. Endless tests, quizzes and projects are being tossed at our faces. Not to mention, if you’re a senior like me you are trying you’re hardest to ace multiple job interviews. In all this chaos, a girl can’t always dress to wow. Sometimes you have to dress for yourself in casual chic to get through the hectic day.
This Fashionista had the casual chic look down to a T for her early class. She utilized simple pieces from her closet to create a comfortable but cute look that you can easily replicate.
Start off with your favorite plaid button-down. Plaid is still popular and a simple button-down is so comfortable. Pair this top with structured dark denim. Oddly, I find that I work better when I have tailored pants on. Something about having sweats or really loose pants on makes me too comfortable to hustle and get my work done. Finish off the look with easy slip on shoes like Vans. Vans are my go-to casual footwear but you can go with bright patterend Toms or simple Birkenstocks with an outfit like this. Since it’s also still chilly in the mornings, wear a solid jacket with plenty of convenient pockets over top of the button-down. Voila!
One Simple Change: Instead of a jacket, you could get away with an even more causal look by wearing a classic fleece hoodie in gray. An understated color will go with any type of plaid. Plus, sweatshirts are cozy enough for an impromptu nap later in the day.
