For many students early morning classes can be worse than going to the doctor’s office. Being in college tends to alter your time management skills since you’re not only taking on full course loads but suddenly free of parental constraints and given no set bedtime or curfew. That being the case, many students don’t find themselves going to bed until 1 a.m. to 3 a.m. at the earliest. I remember one semester I was left with no choice but to take an English 101 class at 6:30 in the morning, and to say the least there was very little thought put into my outfits those days.
When I met this week’s Fashionista I remembered those mornings spent dragging myself to class before the sun had even risen. Her attire consisted of nothing but an oversized shirt, some handmade bracelets and necklaces, and a pair of kick-ass Dalmatian print platforms; simple yet sexy while not trying to be sexy at all.
Early morning classes can be tough with your brain only working at half speed so the less thought you can put into a great outfit the better. Make your life less stressful by trying out this quirky graphic print oversized sweater. If you live in a place where it’s hot all year round switch out an oversized sweater for something breathable like this pop art sleeve-less tunic. Overall, try to choose a piece that has an interesting print on it, that way you will be able to show off your personality and be comfortable all at the same time.
On the topic of comfort, spending your whole day walking across campus wearing heels is usually a big no-no. This week’s Fashionista opted out for the heels but didn’t want to lose the height factor, thus her choice of Platform tennis-shoes. If you’re not a fan of platform’s on a sneaker but like the idea of maintaining that stiletto height without killing your arches, give these tan metal platforms from Pixie Market a try.
One Simple Change: Add some skinny leather pants or patterened bottoms underneath to make this outfit go from a lazy early morning look into a chic night out with the girls.
