WHAT TO WEAR: Early Class

What to Wear

Going out with friends, staying up late, themed parties, movie nights, game nights, eating out with friends and never ending fun is what college is all about, right? Your time in college is known to be the best days of your life! Everybody has that uncle, aunt, parent or grand parent who says,”I would give anything to go back.” So of course we can’t waste a minute of it while we’re here! It’s a time filled with nothing more than fun, fun and more fun! But wait, what else happens besides having fun in college? You guessed it — class. I think all of those people forgot to mention never ending hours of homework, painful all-nighters, rent, school bills due, projects, group projects, labs and of course the horrific 8 a.m. classes.

I’m not sure what everybody’s class schedules look like, but for me, I have 8 a.ms every single day of the week. It used to bother me, but then I decided to quit fighting it and accept it. This is life people. We will have to wake up early at some point in our life, so why not start now? Does it put a damper on certain nights of the week? Absolutely, but my days are filled with coffee and productivity, and it sure does pay off.

However, I must admit I do struggle with one specific thing. My alarm goes off at 7:00 a.m. and the first thought on my mind is, “what on earth am I going to wear?” It takes me ten minutes to find my glasses in the morning, how can I manage to find a perfect outfit?! The ideas of comfortable sweat pants flow through my mind. At some point along the line, I had to find a simple way to look adorable without spending hours on my outfit, or feeling horribly uncomfortable. Well, never fear, I have discovered an easy, comfortable and fashionable look for the very tired mind.

First things first, you better have those leggings. Leggings have become the most important necessity for Fashionistas between the ages of 16-25. You can always dress them up or dress them down but you will always be dressed comfortably. My personal go-to pair of leggings are leather. On the inside, they’re warm and comfortable. On the outside, they’re fierce. In this Fashionista’s look she added a pleated high-waisted skirt to spice up her leggings. To complete the look she added layers. Layers always do winter justice by adding warmth and comfort to every outfit.

The key for early classes is to keep it easy. Nobody wants to wake up two hours before class to get ready. This easy look is just as simple as throwing on sweats. You wear warm comfortable leggings with boots or combat boots, and layer as many shirts, sweaters, cardigans, jackets and scarves as you can to compose the perfect look. Within ten minutes you look like a ready-to-wear runway model and will turn heads in class!

So I hope all of you Fashionistas/os remember to keep it simple in the morning! Don’t waste your beauty sleep by spending hours on an extravagant, uncomfortable outfit. More importantly, don’t get caught dead out of the house in sweat pants! Stick with those leggings. Mix and match cute layers for the perfect comfortable look. After a few days, your jaw-dropping outfits will have you conquering those dreaded early classes.

One Simple Change: If you ever have a presentation for your early class you can easily swap the sweaters/layers out for a nice blazer. This will have you looking pretty and professional during your early morning presentation.
