As I was returning home from the dining hall, I bumped into today’s stylish Fashionista. Although this wasn’t my first time seeing her, this is my favorite ensemble of hers so far. The first week of school for anyone can be absolutely hectic. Whether it’s finding the right buildings, trying to stay organized or attempting to remember names, this experience can be a bit overwhelming. Add in trying to balance work and a social life and it seems like the only thing you’re missing out on is sleep. I’ve tried to make multiple outfit changes throughout the day but I’ve quickly learned that pieces that can go from day to night lessen the stress. The perfect day to night look can easily transition from casual to semi-formal with just one or two simple changes.
This Fashionista has accomplished what I’ve been attempting to do all week. She found a fashionable piece for the daytime that, with the right accessories, could stand out in a crowd. On any busy day, I usually wear a romper. Rompers are a perfect option for you sweatpants and leggings girls because they are not only stylish, but also comfortable. The loose fit of the romper makes it weather appropriate and prevents an uncomfortable sweaty situation. This scallop collared romper could be brightened up with a statement necklace while this Deep-V Floral Romper is a statement piece on its own.
This Fashionista’s black romper has a small black belt, which adds curves to her figure while the gold studded collar adds detail to an otherwise plain look. Her gold bracelets and sandals also brighten up the look for daytime and are a great alternative to flip flops. To take this look from day to night, swap the gold sandals for minimalist heels. These Zara heels are popular amongst fashion bloggers but these GoJane heels are on sale and may be a better option for college students. If wedges are your cup of tea, this pair by Chinese Laundry can help you achieve a nighttime look.
One Simple Change: As we all know, the warm summer days are coming to an end. To make this look appropriate for colder weather, add an oversized knit sweater or a dark wash chambray top.
