WHAT TO WEAR: Day To Night

It’s the first day of summer in the windy city of Chicago. The streets are flooded with eager shoppers and those looking for a bite to eat while visitors are looking for monuments to enjoy. While cruising the shopping district, several Fashionistas and Fashionistos showcased their outfits for the warm weather. There was one outfit that stood out from the rest.

As I was preparing to cross Michigan Avenue, I noticed a vertically striped dress flowing in the wind. The stripes elongated her thin physique. Once I approached the Fashionista, I realized it was a high-low dress with a V-cut neckline and spaghetti stapes. To compliment the dress she wore bright accessories. Her purse was gray with accents of yellow with silver trinkets. She wore a round-toed fuchsia low-heel. As she walked, the sun reflected these pieces nicely.

Instead of wearing sneakers, shorts and a T-shirt, remember that beauty isn’t always pain! This ensemble was perfect for 80 degree weather and low winds. For frolicking around the city with friends and family, the dress was not too tight or shapeless. Her shoes were comfortably fashionable: it gave the outfit some color while allowing her to parade throughout the city. Her accessory choice was a perfect mixture of summery and chic.

One Simple Change: Once the sun goes down, you decide to go out with your girlfriends and get a bite to eat? Change your accessories and shoes. Instead of summery light colors, go for an edgy, simplistic heel and clutch that will compliment the striped dress but allow it to steal the show while strutting downtown.
